In its 35th international singing competition, the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg is inviting applications to participate in opera productions, gala programmes and the Liedclass of the International Festival of Young Opera Singers 2026 and springfestival 2027. During the festivals in Rheinsberg, the prize winners will work on a musical piece under professional conditions and perform it in public. Extensive media coverage is planned. They will also have the opportunity to present themselves to national and international theatre and festival directors and agencies. The festival provides young singers with knowledge and valuable experience for their future careers. Many careers began in Rheinsberg, including those of Annette Dasch, Susanne Elmark, Allison Oakes, Olga Peretyatko, Nadine Weissman, Aris Argiris, Marco Jentzsch and Friedemann Röhlig.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
The competition is open to young opera singers born after 1994/1/1. In order to apply and qualify for the audition, two pieces of your choice must be submitted.
PRE-SELECTION
Applicants will be invited to participate in the audition on the basis of their submitted audiovisual media. The submitted media shall be of high quality. Distorted, noisy or otherwise inferior recordings will not be considered.
AUDITIONS
The audition will take place between February 2nd and 04th 2026 in the premises of the Musikkultur Rheinsberg in the Kavalierhaus of the castle complex, 16831 Rheinsberg. You will be informed of the exact, individual audition date when you are invited for the audition. When auditioning for a solo part in one of the operas, a compulsory piece must be performed, which will be communicated to you with the invitation to the audition. The requirements for a part in ‘Blaubart’ include not only singing and acting, but also dialogue in French, which will therefore be part of the audition. When applying, please indicate what you are applying for (multiple applications are possible). Applicants must be available and without other obligations within the specified period for rehearsals and performances of their desired roles.

REGISTRATION FEE
The fee for participation in the competition is 50,00 €. Admission to the competition takes place after receipt of payment. Travel expenses for participation in the audition will not be reimbursed. All dates without guarantee.
