In its international singing competition, the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg annually announces participation in opera performances, gala programmes and concerts for the International Festival of Young Opera Singers as well as participation in the master class. The competition is open to young opera singers under 32 years of age.
In a pre-selection, a jury decides on the invitation to the competition. This is based on the audiovisual media submitted for registration. The jury consists of the artistic directors of the productions of the festival summer as well as singing teachers. The auditions will take place at the beginning of the year at the University of the Arts in Berlin, in Moscow and for the first time in Copenhagen in 2020 at the Suzuki Institute.
As prizes the singers expect the roles of the performances and/or the participation in the master class in the summer. In addition, there is the opportunity to participate in other concerts and gala evenings, matinees, guest performances and to network with international singing colleagues and musicians. In this way, the festival provides young singers with knowledge and valuable experience for their future careers. Extensive media coverage is planned. In addition, the prize winners will receive prize money of up to € 1,400.00 as well as free accommodation and meals during the festival in Rheinsberg.
